Santa Rosa Symphony Young People's Concert

CPAC welcomes back for their fourth appearance this young string orchestra, a winner of the statewide annual Berkeley Junior Bach Festival. Working without a conductor this student ensemble delights with their level of musicianship and attentive collaboration with one another. Special guest will be Lewis Patzner, classically trained cellist with a growing reputation as an innovative cross-over musician and composer. Performance lasts an hour with no intermission. Futures Tasting and Sales with the Winemaker

Amphora will be hosting a barrel tasting/futures purchasing experience allowing you to taste right out of the barrel and secure “futures” at a great discount. Small groups will be tasted through a variety of 2016 and 2017 vintages led by Amphora’s owner/winemaker. You can look forward to an enjoyable and educational experience surrounded by like-minded wine lovers like yourself. Please note that this is NOT part of the regional Wine Road “Barrel Tasting” event. Groups of 20 will embark on their tasting adventure at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm or 3:00 pm on March 2, 3, 4, 9, 10 and 11. Please allow 1.5 to 2 hours for this experience. This event is by advance reservation only. The Alexander Valley Film Society is bringing Hollywood glamour to Sonoma County with the Fourth Annual Red Carpet Evening, a fundraising gala and celebration of the 90TH ACADEMY AWARDS®. Guests will gather at TRIONE WINERY for an evening of film, fashion, food and fun, featuring a red carpet entrance, opulent silent auction lounge, and the OSCARS® on the big screen during an elegant seated dinner from Chef Tim Vallery and Peloton Catering. Following the telecast, Senator Mike McGuire will host a live auction. Proceeds from the event will support the Alexander Valley Film Society’s educational and cultural programs.

Books on Stage/Telling the Story, Jean Hegland Thursday, March 8 at 7 pm. Join us for an evening with Sonoma County’s own Jean Hegland. Jean’s most recent novel, Still Time, is about a Shakespeare scholar’s attempts to come to terms with his life and reconcile with his estranged daughter as he struggles with Alzheimer’s disease. Booklist described it as “Heartbreaking in the best possible way.” Her first novel, Into the Forest, has been translated into over a dozen languages, was adapted into a movie that premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in 2015, and has recently become a best seller in France. The event will be followed by wine, cheese and conversation in the lobby. Suggested donation $10.

King’s Nursery wishes to help re-knit the fabric of our wonderful communities by handing out a beautiful rose bush to the first 1000 who visit the nursery. The hope is to bring joy, happiness and colorful blooms to all gardens in our wonderful part of the world. This is a no strings event. The only request is that recipients are encouraged to plant these colorful roses where neighbors and passerby’s may enjoy their blooms this spring and for many years beyond. It’s fun and full of surprises, and a great venue for artists of all kinds to perform for an appreciative audience.
